FIFA 16: high rated players
This effect will really only be seen in 16. The market is barren because A) it's a new change and sellers are nervous / cautious and B) because of how inflated prices were, lots of people aren't going to sell on principle of not losing coins.
I think in 16, we're going to see some -much- more reasonable price bands.
But as far as I've read, they already have price bands on Madden and their other sports games. So why test it if it's already being implemented somewhere else. Couldn't they just let FIFA 15 be and develop something similar to what they have on other games for FIFA 16.
I actually suggested few months back that they bring price bands into the next FIFA and I love the idea for FIFA 16. But if they wanna test it on 15, they can atleast they can be intelligent about it and have different price bands on different systems. The number of players on consoles blow the number of players on PC out of the water. Plus Xbox has legend cards too. There is no way that the number of cards out in the economy is the same on the three systems. I can bet that not even one single card has the same weight in even two out of the three systems. So how can price be the same when demand is not the same? Simple economics.. There are no top players left on the PSN market because of this..
I didn't know that but I am glad they don't share the same code, otherwise knowing EA, they would've just copied and used it..
But like I said, I love the idea. I've been advocating on this sub that EA do what they've done. My only issue is doing it in FIFA 16 directly vs testing on FIFA 15. With the number of Fifa 16 coins in the economy already, especially on PSN, it is very unlikely that this will work. Not unless EA ban those generic coin generating accounts that are currently at the top of the leader-boards. Otherwise, the Messis, Ronaldos, etc, will go extinct with only one or two auctions here and there (like it was with TOTY Ronaldo before this).
I think this as a standalone will make FIFA 15 markets worse. EA either needs to ban those glitching accounts (so that the Fut 16 coins they currently have also get removed from the economy), or they need to re-release some of the top cards into packs again (a week with lightening rounds or special packs or something)..

Great Ideas for FUT 16
So i came up with this idea yesterday and thought I'd share this with you guys. This is probably going to be a long post. My idea keeps the price ranges in effect [Updated every 24-48 Hours] with the removal of club names also included.
Chemistry Style and Position Search Filters for players to be removed: This way, coins sellers cannot search for a unique Chemistry style and Position on a player for selling Fifa 16 coins. For example, If the buyer lists an Aguero at CDM, with Sentinel Chemistry Style, which would be rare, the coin sellers would not be able to specify this card. Making it impossible to sell coins.
Player Stats to be replaced with Fresh/Non-Fresh Cards on the Transfer Market: After player stats are removed from the transfer market, coin sellers can no longer use this unique piece of information to look for specific cards on the market. However, adding the information that whether the card is fresh or not, would satisfy players who look for fresh cards to play with on the Market
Removal of Price and Bin search filters: I'm not really with this idea because i don't fully know the pros and cons of this. I would really love to see your views on this one but i think this would be a big inconvenience to players and therefore am not sure about this.
Also, i don't feel the need for the removal of Contracts/Fitness as there would be Thousands of cards listed on the market and their price would depend on the number of these applied. With Fifa 16 coins ps3, coin sellers cannot distinguish between the buyer's card and another one. This pretty much puts the final nail in the coffin for coin sellers and bringa forward and better FUT Market.
I think this sums up my thoughts and gives a pretty clear idea of my approach. If you find any flaws/loopholes or corrections to be made please suggest them in the comments and I'll add it to the post to make this better and more accurate for a more stable FUT 16 Market. Thanks!

FIFA 16: the Hard Truth
EA has been painted as the devil of late, and they have their misgivings, as does essentially every other gaming company not named Valve or Rockstar (although their GTA Heists teasing was a bit much, I must say). Yes, the goalies are glitchy (still better than indestructo-goalies on old-gen, I guarantee), yes, FIFA points are expensive, however, you feeling entitled to cheap FIFA points is absurd.
Let me ask you a few questions:
Do you whine on the internet about lottery tickets being too expensive? And the odds being against you?
You don't, because you know the odds. And you know they're shitty. And they're making money out of it, because us lazy fuckers really like to think that we'll get life changing money handed to us on a silver platter. We won't.
Then, I hear about Fifa coins, and how you get value for money, and how EA does not keep up with the competition, after all, you could buy 421421412412 gazillion packs for just $5, if you just clicked the link in the description and used the code "JACKASS" at checkout. People now think that because some assholes are abusing the game mechanic to do something that's NOT ALLOWED in this particular metamarket, they are entitled to a discount from the legitimate vendor.
That is not the case. The fact that you can get something illicitly for cheaper does not constitute an open market (which people seem to suggest) but just Plain. Fucking. Cheating. So, the prices inflate, fifa points lose their worth due to packs being worth jack shit, and the attention of the entitled people out there turns not to the cheaters, but to EA... Because you can't buy the player you want, you want them to lower the prices of their intellectual property. You want them to hand you a Ronaldo on a silver platter.
This creates a vicious circle of stupidity that ended yesterday.
The market is locked this way because some of you bought Fut 16 coins, and instead of admitting wrongdoing, you blamed it elsewhere. On coinglitches, on autobuyers - all the things that exist solely because your greed let them.
Spencer made a great analogy in his video yesterday: If Arsenal sells out the Emirates, why should they lower the price? EA owns the IP of FIFA Points, they earn good money, they earn the money they want. Why would they lower the price of them? They spend shitloads of dollars on licensing fees, producing the game, maintaining the servers. They may be heartless assholes, but they also deserve to make a profit, and they deserve to regulate a market they've created.
In the end, if the coinsellers weren't around in the first place, Ronaldo's price would probably be closer to 1 million - which is totally attainable through gameplay with time - as it should be. The entire point of ultimate team is the concept of from zero to hero, rather than from $50 to Ronaldo. You should have to earn the right to play with a good squad, and EA hasn't taken that right away.
Granted, you lost money and you're pissed... But think about it - you also always whine about how EA never tests things. This is a test. A painful test, that I'm sure will, with time, show how they'll deal with this - I for one would rather stay positive and believe that their ultimate goal is making the game more accessible to everyone, rather than shitting on us all.
Whatever the case, EA did not ruin FIFA. They gave us some Fifa 16 account without any restrictions and multiple ways to make due with it. We inflated the value of coins through coinselling and the like (obviously, the glitches are a problem, but on the other hand, if you know anything about shit like this, you will know that the bad guys are always a step ahead of you. You can fix one loophole, they'll find another, etc., etc.).
However, the glitches are only used, because there's a market for people who want a piece of that tainted pie. If everyone wanted to play by the rules, we'd be good. FIFA points would make sense as a way to stop pay to win, and everyone could achieve what they want - through hard work or dumb luck.
TL R - We are as much to blame, even if not more, for the state of FUT as EA is. Deal with it.
